Internal Communication

Must read Lists for Leaders, Communicators and Others

I came across a couple of items this morning I wanted share them with you as both offer significant insight and value.

The first is an article, 5 Most Effective Ways to Sell Change by Glenn Llopis posted on Forbes.com.  In this piece Glenn argues that it won’t be long before being able to innovate and manage change will be a part of every job description. As most of you know, I am of the belief that both ideas already should be a part of every employees job description and, more directly change leadership and change management are in fact one of two fundamental management roles. (The other, for those interested, is my belief that the fundamental purpose of managers in todays workplace is to create the environment and conditions that allow people to perform at their maximum level.)

The five pieces Glenn discusses include Awareness, Timing, Competency and Know How, Desire and Mental Toughness.  Read the full article here and it is well worth a quick read.

The second, The A List: The 17 Most Read, Most Commented On, and Most Thought-Provoking Lists for Communicating Your Way to Great Leadership Part 2: Strategic Leadership Through Big-Picture Communication is the latest e-book from David Grossman at The Grossman Group.  David has a history of pulling together great bits of useful knowledge and this latest e-book is no different, covering a host of areas through well written lists including:

  • 13 Questions Leaders Must Be Able To Answer
  • The 4 Questions Leaders must answer during any change
  • The 5 Minute Leader: 5 Steps to Creating Your Best Messages
  • The Top 10 Principles for Communication in the 21st Century

There are others, but I’ll leave those to you to explore.  Thank you David – Love it!

That’s it for now…hope you find these items of use – I’d love to hear what you thought of them.

As always, cheers and onward with a smile!  Ken
